John Warner - Breckenridge Mayor

John Warner

John Warner is a 59 year old community activist, volunteer and donor. He was born in Hartford Connecticut and moved to Denver in 1961. He attended and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1969. He and his wife moved to Breckenridge in 1980. At that point he was a member of the Summit County Rescue Group from 1980 until 1987. He was also a board member of the Breckenridge Music Institute from 1982 until 1987, serving as President from 1983 until 1984. He helped found the Summit Huts Association and served as its President from 1987 until 1998. He served BOSAC from 1997 until 1999 and Breckenridge Town Council from 1998-2002.

John has been married to his wife, Carre, for 37 years (they had their first date in Breckenridge in 1969). John and Carre have 2 children; Brittany, a 23 year old who is finishing her undergraduate degree in California, and Katey who is attending classes at CMC. They have lived in Summit County and Breckenridge since 1980.

They enjoy traveling and making and maintaining friendships. When not working as a dentist (something he truly enjoys) John enjoys hiking and skiing (all kinds of skiing), cycling, or adventure traveling with family and friends. John currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Summit Huts Association. He is the Past President of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society and was on the national board of directors of Outward Bound Wilderness.

John graduated with honors from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in 1979 and the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in 1973.
