Millie Hamner

Dr. Millie Hamner, Superintendent of Schools came to Summit County as the Assistant Superintendent for the Summit School District in the Fall of 2001 and was promoted to Superintendent of Schools in March of 2004. Prior to her move to Summit County, Millie worked as a teacher and administrator in the Eagle County School District for the 23 years following her wise move to the mountains from the greater Cleveland area. Millie has been involved in public education in a variety of instructional and leadership roles since beginning her career in public education as a third grade teacher in Ohio in 1975.

Millie has dedicated her career to the continuation of a strong public education system in Summit County and throughout the state of Colorado. She recognizes that school superintendents must be the chief advocates for all of the children in their communities. She knows that to do this work effectively, the public must be engaged and enlisted as collaborative partners supporting the great work of public educators who do everything possible for the success of each child attending the public schools.
